Lubuk Linggau Mosque
South Sumatera, Indonesia
Religious | Design Completed (2020) | 135 m²
The design of the mosque is emphasizing on the essence of worship space through creation of serene area to ‘talk’ to the God. This is achieved through the use of minimal combination of materials (timber and concrete), no ornamentation, focusing on natural lighting as well as efficient use of space.
The timber material used as a folded screen that can be widely open, applied throughout the mosque’s envelope ensuring a good air circulation. The minaret is designed to blend with the overall mosque structure. With the capacity of around 120 people, the mosque becomes a safe place for community that is lacking a worshipping space in the area.
